Laboratory Summary
There are seven laboratories in the department. All the laboratories are equipped with P4 machines, 10 Mbps internet connectivity, LCD projectors and licensed software such as Windows XP, various versions of Linux, Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio dot net, MatLab, Rational Software Architect, Flash MX.
There are around 200 machines spread across all the laboratories and faculty rooms. All the machines are protected by antivirus and are maintained by a third party vendor. Care is taken that all the machines are up 24/7.

1. Fundamentals of Programming Laboratory
This laboratory caters the need of first year students.
- In first semester, a laboratory course of C language based assignment is conducted.
- In the second semester, the communication skills based assignments are performed in the laboratory. This lab is equipped with Digital Orell Language software to support the communication skills assignments.
2. Hardware Laboratory [Lab 1]
This laboratory is used by second year students.
It has the set up for the conduction of the experiments which are based on digital electronics and processor interfacing. Digital boards, 8086 microprocessor kits with supporting interfacing kits, 8051 microcontroller kits and embedded system kits are available to the students.
A group of two students gets a separate kit to perform the experiments.
- In first semester, Digital Electronics laboratory is conducted in this lab.
- In second semester Processor Interfacing laboratory is conducted in the lab.
3. Database Management system laboratory [Lab 2]
This laboratory covers the need of third year students.
1. In the first semester, the laboratory is used to conduct the relational database management based mini projects. This involves front end development in visual basic and back end development in oracle
2. In the second semester this laboratory is used for java based mini projects which involve usage of core java and advanced java.
4. Network laboratory[Lab 6]
The network laboratory is used to conduct the laboratory courses for third year and final year students. There are networking devices available such as Cisco 1721 series routers; Cisco catalyst 2950, 24 ports switches etc. Students get a chance to explore the usage of such devices.
The institution has a status of Cisco Local Academy. The Cisco certification courses are conducted in this laboratory.

2. In the second semester, the final year engineering students perform the assignments of Information Assurance and Security.
5. Operating system laboratory[Lab 7]
This laboratory is used to conduct the assignments of third year and final year students.
1. In the first semester, it is used to conduct laboratory course on Operating System. This covers the hands on common features of an operating system.
2. In the second semester, it is used the conduct the laboratory course on distributed systems for the final year students.
6. Multimedia Laboratory[Lab 3]
This laboratory is used by the second year students.
1. In the first semester, it is used to conduct the assignments for Computer graphics.
2. In the second semester, it is used to conduct the laboratory course on Data Structures and Files.
7. Project laboratory[Lab 4]
This laboratory is used by the final year students to complete the project work. One pc is assigned to each project group at the beginning of the year. Any specific hardware requirement pertaining to a project is catered by the department. The laboratory is exclusively meant for project purpose so that whenever the students are free they can come and work for their project in the laboratory.
