Laboratory Summary

The department has 9 laboratories. All the laboratories have desktops with latest configurations and internet connectivity. Each laboratory is equipped with a smartboard/LCD projector. Use of open-source operating systems and other software is encouraged. All the laboratories have Ubuntu 16.04 operating system while two laboratories have dedicated licensed Windows software as operating system. The department has around 269 computers. All the computers are protected by Seqrite antivirus.

Detailed Information about the laboratories

Lab 1

This laboratory has 29 machines with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration:

  1. HP Computer, Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (25 Nos)
  2. Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (4 Nos)

 

Lab 2

This laboratory has 25 machines and 3 Servers with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration:

1. Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (9 Nos)
2. Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (9Nos)
3. HP Computer, Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD (7 Nos)

Server 1: IBM server (3 Nos)
Processor – TowerXeon 2620, 2GHz

 

Lab 3

This laboratory has 30 machines and network devices with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration:

  1. Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (25 Nos)
  2. Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (5 Nos)

Lab 4

This laboratory has 30 machines with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration: Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD (30 Nos)

Lab 5

This laboratory has 20 machines with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration: Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (20 Nos)

Lab 6

This laboratory has 19 machines and hardware kits with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration: Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (19 Nos)

Hardware kits:

  1. Micro-controller/ Microprocessor development kit
  2. Digital Trainer Kit
  3. Peripheral Kits: Dyna 8255, 8253,8251, DAC, ADC

Lab 7

This laboratory has 30 machines with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration: HP Computer, Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (30 Nos)

Lab 8

This laboratory has 30 machines with following details

Computer Hardware Configuration:  Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD (30 Nos)

 

Lab 9

This laboratory has 30 machines with following details

All laboratories are well illuminated and spacious. They have a setup of desktop and other devices to cater to a batch of maximum thirty students. There is enough space for the laboratory instructor to reach to individual student via appropriate commuting space. Air Conditioners are provided wherever required in the laboratories. The cleaning of the laboratories happens every day.
