To improve soft skills of the students, college runs following programmes:
1) Garnishing Talent (GT)
Garnishing Talent is a certificate course in Soft Skill and Communication Skills conducted by Eaton in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) since 2011-12.
This program is focused on equipping the second-year students of CCEW who are from vernacular, semi-vernacular and rural background with appropriate soft and social skills critical to achieve individual and professional success.
The program leverages Eaton’s association with leading academic institutions in Pune region and facilitates interactive sessions between students and experienced trainers from Eaton.
The participants of these programs include students from various departments namely Mechanical, Instrumentation, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunications as identified through a defined assessment process.
2) Employability Enhancement and Innovation Program(EEP) for UG
The college conducts a program “Innovation, Employability skills enhancement and Career building” to improve the skill set of the students required for career building.
It is a Signature Program initiated by Cummins Foundation. The objective of this program is preparing students for the placements and increasing their employability. The Program also aims at providing guidance and assistance for filing patents to the students. It includes sessions on following areas –
- Self Awareness, 2. Communication Skills, and 3. Overview of Aptitude Test and Interview Techniques.
This program is held for the students studying in the third year. Being a Signature Program, the cost of this training program is borne by Cummins Foundation

“Employability Enhancement and Innovation Program for UG” 13 weeks in 5th Sem
For 3rd year UG students this is an experiential, participatory program.
Module A: Horizontal Skill set – 5 units
- Opportunities of studying abroad, General Knowledge, MOOCs
- Mind Map technique and its application for many subject (T/P)
- Creativity Workshop, Lateral Thinking (T/P)
- Email etiquettes, telephone interview, time management
- 6 hats thinking and its application in career progression T/P
Module B: Generic Professional Skills -8 units
- Digital Presence, Video Resume, Effective Resume writing T/P
- Effective Interview Techniques T
- Interview Practice (2 sessions of 2 hrs) P
- Positive Thinking and Stress Management
- Cracking the “GD”, Engg Aptitude Test Prep
- Innovation methodology, IP (publications, patents) T/P
- Presentation skills: pre-work, preparation, delivery T/P
- Listening Skills, Video Analysis T/P
These sessions are conducted for all third-year students irrespective of their branches.
